Former Italy coach Dino Zoff believes Diego Maradona's job as coach of the Argentina national team will not be easy and he is surprised El Pibe d'Or got the job...Maradona beat off stiff competition to land himself the bench role and his first task is to lead the team to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Zoff, who coached Italy for two years and won the World Cup with La Nazionale as a player, believes the former Napoli man will not have it easy.
"I am a little surprised with the move but there had been plenty of talk about Maradona becoming the Argentina coach in the past." Zoff told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"It was destiny that sooner or later Maradona would become coach of the national team. However, it will not be easy for him at all.
"Yes, he made history with Argentina but when you become a coach the past doesn't count anymore. What counts is winning.
"Even someone like Maradona will need to follow this rule."
The former Napoli legend's appointment as coach has seen the country go berzerk as their hero attempts to lead them to World Cup glory, like he did as a player in 1986.
