Xavi And Bojan Play Down Victory

It might have been Barcelona's best performance of the season so far but today Xavi and Bojan Krkic both played down the 6-1 thrashing of Atlético Madrid and said they are not playing perfectly yet....

Barcelona had the world watching on Saturday night as they played host to Atlético Madrid and the Catalan side certainly didn't disappoint as they handed out a 6-1 mauling to their title rivals.

Xavi was at the heart of the magic, spraying balls all over the pitch, and today, worryingly for the rest of the league, the Spanish maestro said they are not even perfect yet.

"We aren't playing perfect football yet," he assured modestly, "There is still a lot for us to work on to achieve perfection. The best part though is that we have regained putting pressure on all over the pitch, an intensity that we had lost."

"We still have to work on things though, for example, helping to defend at the right moment so that we stop conceding goals we shouldn't," he explained.

Another player who had their say on the match, who wasn't as influential in the game, was young Bojan Krkic. The Spanish international agreed with Xavi when he said that they can still improve.

"I believe that if we keep on playing these games, the team will have a better feel and will respond better each time. The image of Barcelona can still improve though," he claimed.

Manager Pep Guardiola, who had come under some criticism for his teams early season form also had his say about the victory.

"Results like this one against a Champions League team give respect, but at the end of the day we only get three points for it. It is a step more and a good sign, but nothing more," he concluded.
