The debate rages on about whether or not Barcelona’s 87th minute equalizer against Shakhtar Donetsk was ethically correct after the Spaniards kept possession despite their opponents putting it out of play when one of their players were on the ground.
While the Ukrainian side of the fence will protest the goal long into the night, the Spaniards, however, have defended and justified their actions with the explanation that the ball was “cleared” rather than put out of play voluntarily.
“It was a legal play. The (Shakhtar) player cleared the ball out of play without even realizing his teammate was on the ground,” clarified Bojan.
Television cameras then caught the supposed injured Shakhtar player getting back up on his feet once the ball was in play again.
As a result of that move, Bojan went on to set up Lionel Messi for the equalizer before the Argentine himself netted the winning goal four minutes into injury time.
