Arsenal In For Mineiro?

After denying he is interested in Ghana captain Stephen Appiah, Sky Sports are claiming that Arsene Wenger has turned to Brazilian midfielder Mineiro...

Mineiro (São Paulo)
In a similar fashion to the Stephen Appiah speculation, Arsenal are now being linked with Mineiro, who is available on a free transfer after leaving Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin over the summer. The midfielder is now looking for a new club.

Arsenal have yet to replace Lassana Diarra, Gilberto, and Mathieu Flamini - instead Wenger has opted to recruit little know youth quantities such as Amaury Bischoff and Aaron Ramsey.

In order to add some needed experience, Sky Sports are reporting that the Frenchman sent an invitation to Mineiro to visit the club and training groun, which the Brazilian accepted.

Arsene may have to act fast though as Alex McLeish and Birmingham City are also interested in the 33-year old.
