Crespo Could Join Roma In January – Agent

The agent of snubbed Inter striker Hernan Crespo has admitted that there is a possibility of his client joining Roma in January.

The Argentine striker is well down the pecking order at San Siro, and Inter tried desperately to offload him before yesterday’s transfer deadline, but the player refused moves to Sampdoria and Palermo in the hope of receiving an offer from a bigger club.

This offer was not forthcoming and, to make matters worse, Crespo was not included on Jose Mourinho’s Champions League squad list, a decision which infuriated the 33-year-old.

“Hernan does not like what has happened, among other things what happened on the last market day,” agent Fernando Hidalgo told Radio Radio.

“But these are things that happen in football, and he now will try to find space and show his value in the league and Italian Cup.”

The Italian press has linked Crespo with a move to Roma in January, and Hidlago has not ruled out this possibility.

"A move in January? Hernan has always liked Roma, and when he was at Chelsea he was very close to Roma,” he continued.

“The coach wanted him, and spoke with Crespo but an agreement could not be found.

“We will see in January. At the moment Crespo is at Inter and he must show that the club was wrong to exclude him from the list for the Champions League."
