thumbnail Hello,

If Arsene Wenger had his way Salomon Kalou would be playing at Arsenal, according to Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari.

The young Ivory Coast attacker has failed to hit the heights consistently since arriving to Stamford Bridge from Feyenoord in 2006, and there are a significant amount of Chelsea fans still wondering whether he shouldn't have been offloaded.

While seemingly attempting to validate the player's potential by revealing Aresnal's interest, Scolari's latest comments also suggested that perhaps the problem lies in the fact that he is more often than not been used as a winger rather than an orthodox striker.

"If you ask Arsene Wenger, he wants Kalou as a centre-forward and Arsene is an intelligent man. I need to follow his idea," Scolari was quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"He wanted Kalou one, two or three months ago when we started negotiations for some players. I said no.

"You know what players I want and now you know what players Arsene wants.

"If he sees Kalou as a number nine then I must try that sometimes. But I also have (Nicolas) Anelka, (Didier) Drogba and (Franco) Di Santo."
