After winning the South American Recopa against Argentinean side Arsenal de Sarandí, Boca Juniors have joined Milan, the current Club World Cup holders, on top of the list of clubs with the most international football trophies in the world. Both clubs have lifted 18 international Cups.

How will that make Adriano Galliani feel, after the Milan vice-president repeatedly reminded journalists and rivals who criticised his team that they were, after all, the club with the most titles in the world?

It's probable he didn't take it well, but he obviously hid it when he talked about the issue, and complimented the Argentinean side for having reached the top of this prestigious list.

"On behalf of the club I want to congratulate Boca Juniors," said Galliani, "for winning their 18th international trophy, becoming the most title-winning club in the world along with Milan."

Boca Juniors and Milan met in the most recent Club World Cup final in Yokohama, in which the Rossoneri proved stronger and won 4-2. They had also met four years earlier, and on that occasion Boca lifted the trophy after a penalty shoot-out victory following a 1-1 draw.
