Swiss defender Phillipe Senderos has spoken of his 'dream' loan switch from Arsenal to AC Milan...
The Swiss centre back is highly thought of in the Arsenal camp though, and prior to William Gallas' transfer to Arsenal from Chelsea, Senderos was even the subject of discussion between Arsene Wenger and Tony Adams about a future role as captain.
The signing of Mikael Silvestre prompted Wenger to send Senderos on loan, and AC Milan were his chosen desitination, and the 23-year states it is the realisation of a dream.
"I am really happy to play in a team like Milan," he told the club's official website. "This is a dream come true. Everything has happened really fast," he said.
"Everything here is incredible. The people are very easy going and they have made me feel like I'm at home. In the past I have achieved some success. To have become European Champion with the Under-17 national team and of course, at the age of 18 to have arrived to a big club as Arsenal."
He continued: "In London I have learned a lot. It has been a life school and Wenger has helped me. Today I can say I have reached a superior level by coming to this club. I want to give 100 per cent and improve every day," he added.
"This team wants to return to the Champions League and I will do everything I can to help."
