The former Milan favourite joined the Stamford Bridge club two years ago but has seen his reputation as one of Europe’s most dangerous strikers diminish after failing to hit the goals for Chelsea.

Former Blues manager Jose Mourinho apparently didn’t fancy the Ukraine international and Avram Grant signed Nicolas Anelka rather that give him a prolonged run in the side.

At the end of last season rumours started to arise that stated that Milan were looking at a deal to bring him back to the San Siro.  However it now seems that new Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari is keen on giving Shevchenko a chance which has put paid to any deal.

"He's not for sale" said Galliani. "I've asked officially and Roman Abramovich said no.  So we must be serious and disciplined.

"Should a club say no, we must accept.  It means we have to think of something else" he added.
