Wenger Eyes Huntelaar As Adebayor Sale Nears?

The Daily Star reports that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has his sights set on pairing Robin van Persie with Klaas Jan Huntelaar as the Gunners look into the prospect of selling Emmanuel Adebayor to AC Milan...

Klaas Jan Huntelaar
As has been widely reported, discussed and accepted, unsettled Emmanuel Adebayor could soon be on his way out of the Emirates.

However, the loss of last season's top scorer doesn't appear to have perturbed Arsene Wenger, who thinks the future's bright. The future, in fact, could be Oranje.

The Gunners have high hopes that Dutch striker Robin van Persie can shake off his injury woes in order to see much more action in an Arsenal shirt next term.

Now, the Daily Star reports that Wenger is reading a swoop for Ajax ace Klaas Jan Huntelaar, with a view to pairing up the Netherlands team-mates and replacing want-away Togolese striker Adebayor.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is targeting Ajax striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar as his replacement for want-away Emmanuel Adebayor, about whom a meeting between Wenger and AC Milan VP Adriano Galliani is set to take place.

Huntelaar has been strongly linked with a move to the Premiership this summer and a touted £18m bid would seriously test the Amsterdam club's resolve.

However, Ajax maintain that they're not selling as Marco van Basten attempts to breathe new life into the Godenzonen.
