Lamps Livid Over Scolari Comments
Frank Lampard is reportedly furious with new Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari's comments to the media yesterday declaring that the player was staying at the club...
Just hours after Scolari's inaugural press conference, the player's agent Steve Kutner released a statement clarifying that the England international's future remains completely unresolved due to ongoing contract negotiations.
Internazionale president Massimo Moratti also rubbished Chelsea's official statement claiming that no financial offer had been made and just an inquiry from his club, insisting both he and they knew an offer had been put on the table.
Later in the evening reports emerged of a €10 million bid for the midfielder, and The Mirror now reports of his disappointment with the highly popular new Chelsea boss' statement.
The 30-year-old is reported to have gone to chief executive Peter Kenyon with a complaint, as earlier that same day the club refused to offer him the five-year deal he was seeking - a deal that would see him end his career at the club.
The goal-getting midfielder claimed he was being forced out of the club after seven years of service - with just one remaining on his current contract - and the final offer from the Blues of £140,000 per week for four years is thought to have been rejected by the former West Ham United man.
Despite what Scolari told the press, Lampard is reported to have actually said: "Listen, I always dreamed of finishing my career at Chelsea, but it's not going to happen. We can't agree a contract."
The saga continues.
