Vela Mocks Spurs Over Dos Santos
North London rivalry is alive and well even in Mexico, it seems, as Arsenal's starlet Carlos Vela has had a mild dig at Tottenham over their signing of compatriot Giovani Dos Santos.
Arsenal striker Carlos Vela - expected to make his Premier League debut
next season after qualifying for a work permit during three loan spells
with Spanish clubs - has taunted the Gunners' arch-rivals Tottenham
Hotspur by claiming that their new signing Giovani Dos Santos will move
on to a bigger club.
Dos Santos, 19, agreed to join Spurs from Barcelona last week in a cut-price £4.7million transfer.
But according to The Sun, his Mexico team-mate Vela believes moving to Spurs is just a stepping-stone in the career of Dos Santos.
Vela told the newspaper: "I am happy for him.
"I hope things go well for him at Tottenham, that he gets the minutes he wasn't given at Barcelona and that he shows what he can do.
"He is a very good player and let's hope he can then move on to a better team."
