Galliani: We'll Need Two Strikers
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has confirmed the club will be chasing at least two new strikers over the course of the transfer season…
Milan were found out last season due to their lack of attacking options, as a combination of age, inexperience and injuries left them without a single reliable centre-forward until Filippo Inzaghi stepped up late in the term.
With the injured Ronaldo expected to return to his native Brazil, and Alberto Gilardino looking continually more likely to leave for Fiorentina, the Rossoneri would be left with only 34-year-old Inzaghi and 18-year-old Alexandre Pato up front.
But Galliani has assured unsettled supporters that the club are planning a pair of high-profile raids, confirming their interest in Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o and Chelsea hitman Didier Drogba.
"With Ronaldo leaving, we are looking for a striker and if Gilardino goes too then we will need two," Galliani said.
"I will be talking to Fiorentina director Sandro Mencucci today about Gilardino. But Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto'o are high quality targets and so very expensive."

Galliani did not rule out the possibility of Marco Borriello returning to the San Siro, after a breakout season in which the 25-year-old bagged 19 goals for Genoa.
Milan currently co-own Borriello with the Grifone, and Galliani insists the player’s ownership status must be sorted clearly before any talk of a potential move.
"Marco Borriello? If he came to Milan I don't think that he would move again," he said.
"He wants to be a main player? I'm not the Coach - if he arrived he would be one of six strikers, but we will see when his co-ownership runs out on June 25."
Reports from Italy indicate that Marco has already returned to Milan, in fact, but these remain unconfirmed.
