Güiza Attracts Gunners Interest

The Jerez-born striker finished the last Liga season as the 'Pichichi' award-winner for top goalscorer, and as such there are no shortage of clubs wishing to lure him away from the islands.
The likes of Roma and even Barcelona have already expressed a preliminary interest, but Marca claims that a new side has joined the fray: Arsenal.
Coach Arsène Wenger has all but resigned himself to losing Emmanuel Adebayor this summer, and he apparently deems it possible that Güiza serves as the Togolese striker's replacement.
Dani, formerly of Getafe, apparently offers the dual benefit of being able to hit in excess of 20 goals in a tough league such as the Primera while also not being a huge superstar.
While he will almost certainly command a fee of €15m euros - his minimum release clause - that is much less than Wenger would have to pay for the likes of, say, Sevilla's Luis Fabiano, who finished second in the Liga scoring charts.
As such, the criterion of value for money - the key feature of any non-youth signing at the Emirates - will almost certainly be met.
Valencian Interest
However, there also remains interest from Valencia.
Should Güiza wish to remain in Spain then Los Che could be one of the best choices available to him, given that they offer UEFA Cup football and a fair chance of more European adventures to come. Furthermore, he may be more able to receive a first-team spot with them than with, say, Barcelona.
The snag is that the Mestalla side are one of many who could meet the €15m fee for the player, but have a comparatively low wage cap of €1.5m per season for any new player.
Inter and AC Milan, meanwhile, are not only said to be interested but certainly able to offer a lot more.
