Galliani: Never Offered Barcelona €25m For 'Dinho
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani reveals that his club never offered Barcelona €25 million for Ronaldinho and he insists that they are not desperate to sign a striker.
However, the deal collapsed as the Camp Nou side were asking for too much money. Galliani insists that his side never even came close to offering what was being asked for - around €30 million.
“Milan never offered Barcelona €25 million,” said Galliani.
“I don’t think Barcelona have lowered the price for Ronaldinho to €25 million, in any case this is not what we offered them.”
The chief also spoke of Amauri. The Palermo striker is close to a move to Juventus but Milan are also interested in the prolific hit-man. Galliani revealed that the club's decision on whether or not to bid for the player is contingent on the future of co-owned Marco Borriello.
“We are still interested in signing great players, one of whom is Amauri," he added.
“However, we have never held any talks with Palermo regarding the player.
“We will not be taking on another striker until we deal with Borriello’s co-ownership.
“If Borriello returns then we will keep him, if he doesn’t and if Amauri is still available, then we will sign Amauri, if not then we will get someone else.
“There are many players who want to come to Milan, even if we end up in the UEFA Cup.”
The Rossoneri still have an outside chance of qualifying for the Champions League but they will need Torino to do them a favour and beat Forentina, while Milan still need to pick up a win against Udinese at San Siro in order to reach their objective.
