While the squad were safely ensconced on the team bus, they could not have helped but notice the furious scenes around them.

Marca received footage of a group of at least 40 supporters who stood by the airport roadway to hurl insults at the squad as they attempted to leave the facility.

Within touching distance of the coach, the fans made angry hand gestures and berated their heroes for their conduct during the 4-1 capitulation at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Some supporters tried to pursue the bus to make their voices heard as they continued to rail against president Joan Laporta and the squad, but the police intervened to ensure that the situation did not escalate.
