Having already been linked with a move for €25 million rated Italian forward Alberto Gilardino, Olympique Lyonnais are to turn their attention to another talent from the calcio-mad country. Rather than an offensive player, general manager of les Gones, Claude Puel, is rumoured to be chasing Simone Perotta.

Perrotta is still stalling over a new deal with his present employers and has not yet dismissed a move away from the Eternal City.

“We are waiting for news from Roma,” explained Guiseppe Bozzo, the player's agent, to AS. “After that, if they exceed the date that we mutually agreed with them [for a proposal to be made], then we will see.”

President of Lyon, Jean-Michel Aulas, has already said that his club will only sign players who are capable of helping OL challenge for the Champions League this season, which puts Perrotta’s switch to France in doubt as he has already played in the competition with the Giallorossi this season.
