Everton's Tim Cahill Prepared To Step Up Should FA Cup Final Go To Penalties
The Australia international midfielder is confident of his chances should he have to take a spot-kick for Everton against Chelsea on Saturday...
Tim Cahill has insisted he will have no qualms about putting himself forward should the FA Cup final between Everton and Chelsea go to penalties.
The Toffees play the Blues at Wembley on Saturday and with both league meetings between the two clubs ending goalless this season, there is a good chance the match will end in a stalemate.
Should that prove to be the case, the Merseyside outfit's joint top-scorer with nine goals this season is optimistic about his prospects of hitting the back of the net from the 12-yard spot.
"I will step up. I have to," Cahill told EvertonTV.
"I have taken so many penalties on the practice pitch. For me now, I believe it is going to happen.
"This could be my time. Hopefully it won't go to penalties and someone scores before then and saves me the anguish.
"If need be, I will take one. I've crossed the line and there's no turning back now."
