The striker is now very much a true Blue and wants to triumph at Wembley for his injured team-mates...

Louis Saha says he and his Everton team-mates will be doubly determined to beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final so he can dedicate the trophy to the more unfortunate amongst them.

The Blues' 2008-09 campaign has been remarkable due to the amount of serious  injuries they have suffered, with the likes of Mikel Arteta, James Vaughan, Ayegbeni Yakubu and most recently Phil Jagielka all being struck down by season-ending afflictions.

When EvertonTV asked Saha whether he felt an added responsibility to them when they line up on Saturday, he boomed, "Definitely, we do. I feel that all the injuries we've had this season have been really, really bad injuries. Obviously, they were all the players who were really important for the team.

"It's been really unlucky for them, I am sad for them and they deserve something. Definitely, we have to win for them."

Despite having had much more than their fair share of bad luck, David Moyes' men have done terrifically well this season, finishing a highly commendable fifth in the league and with only Chelsea standing between them and a piece of silverware.

"The main strength of the team is how we work together," Saha added. "I do think we've got quality but we are very hard to beat thanks to our strong mentality and that's what we need to bring on the day.

"When you've got good players they can deliver that magic stuff, that quality.

"I have the confidence in my team-mates to win it on the day and that's the main thing."
