VfB Stuttgart have dismissed suggestions that Bernd Schuster is on their list of possible coaches for next season after he was sacked by Real Madrid last week.
The Bundesliga outfit hsave been strongly linked with the German coach after he refused to deny that he would be interested in taking over at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
Current Stuttgart coach Markus Babbel does not have the corect badges to continue in charge beyond the end of the current campaign and the club are looking for a new man.
Spanish daily La Vanguardia state that the story, that was first run in Sportbild, has been categorically denied by an unnamed executive of Die Schwaben.
Having not coached in Germany since 1999, when he left FC Köln, Schuster could be tempted back to take over one of the league's bigger sides, but he may feel he has a point to prove in Spain.
Schuster has also been linked with the Sunderland job, following Roy Keane's departure, as well as a suggestion from the Gertafe president, Ángel Torres, that he would be welcomed back there.
