The Old Lady reportedly sounded out the Spanish side this summer and were told that the talented forward has a mega rescission clause of around €45m.

The former Parma and Manchester United youth product has since received his first call up to the Italian national side and made his senior debut in the 2010 World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria last month.

If anything, this factor should see his transfer fee shoot through the roof, but Juve semi-official paper Tuttosport claims this morning that director of sport Alessio Secco has probably resumed negotiations with the Yellow Submarine directors last week.

The young executive remained in Spain after the Bianconeri’s Champions League game with Real Madrid, allegedly to enquire after Valencia’s ace Joaquin.

Despite the hefty price-tag slapped on the USA-born talent, Tuttosport alleges that Villareal might reduce their economic demands to €30m next summer, which could prompt a bid from the Corso Galileo Ferraris-based outfit.

Rossi scored 11 goals in his first season in Spain and his current contract runs out in 2013, but he admitted that he was flattered by the Turin giants’ interest last month.
