The Argentinian defender was involved in a clash of heads with Basel's Francois Affolter and then fell awkwardly.
Play was immediately suspended for around 10 minutes after the incident to take care of Dudar. The 29-year-old was taken off the pitch and moved directly to hospital, where doctors induced him into a coma.
A report on the Young Boys website reads that Dudar's condition is stable. The defender is expected to come out of his coma later today.
"It was a terrible sight. I have never experienced anything like this before. There was total silence in the dressing room at half-time. Our thoughts were, and are, with Dudar," commented Basel striker Marco Streller on the incident.
Dudar could be out of action for several months as a result of the head injury.
