Belgian powerhouse Standard Liege have completed the transfer of highly rated Aloys Nong from Jupiler Pro League side Mechelen for an undisclosed fee. The Cameroonian forward has signed a three-year deal with his new club.
The Rouches have made a rather disappointing start to the season and were eager to strengthen their squad before the transfer window slammed shut on Tuesday.
They previously announced the capture of Mohammed Tchite from Racing Santander and Mbaye Leye from Gent and have now also added the 27-year-old Nong to their ranks.
Nong has played his entire professional career in Belgium and has before worn the jerseys of clubs such as Luik, Brussels and Kortrijk. He had developed into a key player at Mechelen since joining the club in 2007.
Meanwhile, Standard Liege have decided to ship young attacker Christian Benteke out on loan to Mechelen. The Belgian international has signed a one-year loan deal with the Kakkers.
