Anderlecht Midfielder Jan Polak Endures Further Injury Setback
The Czech Republic international won't return to match action any time soon...
By Stefan Coerts
The 29-year-old midfielder sustained a serious knee injury in the league match against Standard Liege back in August 2009 and has since been sidelined due to the injury.
Polak recently expressed his desire to return to match action in the play-offs, but the former Nuernberg star has now endured a setback and won't return to the match squad this term, according to a report in Het Nieuwsblad.
The highly rated midfielder joined Anderlecht in the summer of 2007 and has since made well over 50 league appearances for the Belgian table toppers.
Promising youngster Cheikhou Kouyate replaced Polak for the majority of the season and is also expected to fill in for the experienced midfielder during the play-offs.
