Belgian powerhouse Anderlecht have received some promising news on the injury front. Highly-rated shot-stopper Daniel Zitka has returned to match after a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to injury.

The 34-year-old sustained a broken ankle about a year ago and had been struggling to return to full match fitness ever since. However, Zitka played the full 90 minutes in a friendly match on Wednesday.

The Czech goalkeeper wasn't overly troubled in the 3-1 friendly win against Union, but he was extremely happy to be back on the pitch again.

"I really enjoyed playing a match again. Match action is completely different from training. You don't get involved as much and you need to stay focussed the full 90 minutes," said Zitka to Sporza.

"I am not thinking about regular first team action yet. I still have plenty of work to do before I'm at my best again. I'm just happy to get match action with the reserves for now."
