Egil Olsen To Stay On As Norway Coach Until 2012
Olsen will oversee the country's European Championship campaign and will then be replaced by Staale Solbakken, who is currently in charge of Copenhagen...
The Norwegian FA have confirmed that Egil Olsen will remain in charge of Norway's national team until 2012.
Olsen took over from Aage Hareide in January 2009, after the latter opted to resign following a string of poor World Cup qualifying results.
Under 67-year-old Olsen, Norway rose from bottom of their group into second. However, they narrowly missed out on a play-off berth.
Olsen previously coached Norway from 1990-1998.
Copenhagen coach Staale Solbakken will take over from Olsen in 2012. The Norwegian FA had been after Solbakken's signature for some time, but Copenhagen were reluctant to let go of their coach.
Solbakken's contract at the Danish side is due to expire in 2012 and he will then be appointed Norway tactician.
