Hans Backe Set To Snub Sweden For Notts County - Report
Another Swedish coach is on his way to England...
The report suggested that Backe was heading to England on Monday for talks with Notts County, where compatriot Sven-Goran Eriksson is director of football. The duo worked together during Eriksson's stints as manager for Mexico, as well as at Premier League side Manchester City.
Eriksson has also ruled himself out of contention for the Sweden position due to his obligation to lowly Notts County, while Fulham coach Roy Hodgson snubbed an offer from the Swedish FA as well.
The search for a new coach began after Lars Lagerback stepped down two weeks ago when Sweden failed to qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Lagerback led Sweden to five international championships in the past.
Th Swedish FA are now believed to have made Rosenborg coach Erik Hamren their primary target to be the nation's new coach, while Kalmar's Nanne Bergstrand is also being linked with the vacant position.
