Prolific Egyptian forward Amr Zaki has developed a growing reputation within English football.

Wigan Athletic owner Dave Whelan even compared the 25-year old to England and Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer; one of the Premier League's greatest strikers.

Zaki is currently second in the goal-scoring charts for the season having netted eight times, and is many pundits tip for the golden boot.

Latics manager Steve Bruce brought Zaki into the club on a one year loan basis but did not include an option to buy, and now the striker's price-tag has sky-rocketed.

Manchester City have shown their interest, and Chelsea may also be keen as he would be the perfect replacement for Ivorian striker Didier Drogba.

"Amr Zaki has been in the limelight for a while, and the mass media have been fueling speculations over his next move and whether Wigan Athletic would let him seal a new deal or not and so forth," Zamalek stated on their official website.

"We hereby assure that we have the legal rights to either accept or reject offers for the aforementioned player, and no other club are authorised to interfere in potential negotiations.

"We would accept the highest bid for the player," they conclude.
