Ruthless tough-tackling wingman Rachid Bouaouzan, 24, who joined the Wigan revolution in 2007 has so-far failed to fit in and has been loaned to 'The pride of Gelderland' NEC Nijmegen.

Rachid Bouaouzan's career-ending challenge on Go Ahead Eagle's Niels Kokmeijer will ensure he will long be remembered in Dutch football history. While he was at first club Sparta Rotterdam Bouaouzan went in hard on Kokmeijer - his right leg was way above ball-height - and immediately broke Kokmeijer's right leg:

The Royal Netherlands Football Association banned Bouaouzan, who is of Moroccan decent, for ten matches but Rotterdam suspended him for the rest of the season. Bouaouzan was further punished by the Dutch government for battery and was handed a six month gaol sentence.

During his final season for Sparta Rotterdam he was relentlessly lambasted by every away stadium he visited.
