During Sebastian Larsson's stay at Birmingham, he has accrued many impressive displays. Whether he is scoring wondergoals against the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, or amassing man of the match displays, or accumulating Opta-rated stats like being the most accurate free-kick taker in the league, he will no doubt always have suitors.

Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United are just two clubs who have expressed an interest, and these are clubs that the Swedish midfielder would prefer to ply his trade in.

He is quoted by Sky Sports as saying: "I want to play at the highest level. I hope it will be resolved. There are three weeks left of the summer window. I have got a new contract proposal from Birmingham, but I am not interested in that."

Perhaps thinking of his chances of International call-ups, and the chance of competing for silverware, he added: "I have got two years left on my current deal. I am not the kind of player who creates a lot of trouble. But somewhere there has to be some respect between the club and the player. Of course it would be better if I played in the Premier League."
