Newcastle Larsson’s Only Offer

Sebastian Larsson, Birmingham and Sweden’s 23-year old midfielder, has been linked with a move to both Blackburn Rovers to join Ince’s revolution, and also Wigan, but his agent revealed to Setantasports.com that it is only the Tyneside club who have moved for the former Arsenal trainee.

Larsson failed to make the grade at Arsenal, but since his move to St. Andrews he has been a shining star in what has otherwise been an otherwise dull team. He has tallied a total of 9 goals for the midlands club, including a spectacular winner against Tottenham Hotspur in December 2007 to give Birmingham their first away win in three months.

It has been rumoured that Larsson, who has been used on the right wing, could be bought by Blackburn as a direct replacement for wantaway Bentley.

However, Per Jonsson, Larsson’s agent, countered these claims by telling setantasports.com that: "I know nothing of the Blackburn link that I have seen in the papers. There are many rumours like this during the window; Wigan Athletic is the same.

"The only concrete offer is from Newcastle but they have not renewed their interest in the past week. There is interest from abroad, but my client wants to stay in England. We will know more later in the month as it is still early in the window."

Sebastian Larsson has played four times for the Swedish full team.
