The Brazilian, who was once the world's most expensive player, was released by Palmeiras last month, and is now plotting a comeback in Europe.
Real Betis bought Denilson from Sao Paulo for over $30m USD in 1998, but the winger's career took a circuituous route after this, resulting in his returning to Brazil.
Bolton Wanderers coach Gary Megson is thought to be eager to sign a player of Denilson's stature, although some may question the Brazilian's suitability to the Premier League.
