Fifa's governance of world football to be scrutinised

An international organisation has called a meeting to discuss later this month how Fifa run the game, and they have announced that Mohamed Bin Hammam and David Triesman will attend
The Council of Europe is holding a meeting on December 19 to discuss the way that Fifa has been governed under current president Sepp Blatter. It is an organisation put in place to promote legal standards and democratic development, and they want to investigate issues related to Fifa's governance.
According to the Council's website, ex-Football Association chairman David Triesman will be attending the meeting alongside Mohamed Bin Hammam.
The former president of the Asian Football Confederation, Bin Hammam, was initially banned for life by Fifa, but the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that there was not enough evidence to support the penalty.
However, Fifa is adamant that Bin Hammam should be banned and, on Thursday, their ethics committee revealed that they have finished its latest enquiry into the 63-year-old's presidential candidacy and have extended his suspension pending further notice.
Bin Hammam has questioned Blatter's leadership for a long time now and claims that he was punished because he had challenged the Swiss' rule.
