Spain have reclaimed first place in the Fifa Ranking after leapfrogging Netherlands, who held the top spot for one month.

The world champions recorded a 3-2 friendly win over Chile and defeated Liechtenstein 6-0 in the Euro 2012 qualification campaign to collect enough points to reassume pole position.

Germany remain in third place, while Uruguay went up one position to go fourth in the Fifa Ranking. Portugal are the number five, having climbed three places.

Meanwhile, England dropped four places and are now the eighth.

Elsewhere in the top 50, Switzerland (18th, up 12), Bosnia-Herzegovina (22nd, up 17), Hungary (27th, up 18) and Armenia (44th, up 27) all made good progress.

Japan are still Asia's finest, finding themselves in 15th position, while Cote d'Ivoire (16th) are the highest ranked African nation.
