FIFA President Joseph Blatter and WADA President John Fahey met at the home of FIFA in Zurich on Wednesday to discuss the joint fight of the two organisations against worldwide doping .
Among the topics of discussion were the specifics of team sports and how a harmonised approach among all stakeholders (national anti-doping organisations, international federations, national associations and WADA) in the fight against doping may be reached.
"The atmosphere throughout the meeting was one of mutual recognition, respect and trust," Blatter quoted as saying by FIFA.com.
"We had a fruitful meeting today. WADA is looking forward to further partnering with FIFA to advance the fight against doping through a number of initiatives. FIFA has an extensive anti-doping programme that is compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code," added Fahey.
Furthermore, initiatives were discussed that FIFA and WADA will take on in partnership, including a joint research project into the development of a biological passport in football.
