Raggi started his footballing career with Empoli, where he spent a total of four seasons before moving on to Palermo at the beginning of the current campaign.

The defender has not been playing consistently for the Rosaneri since his arrival in Sicily, and it was only a matter of time before unrest in Palermo would force him out, and the January transfer window presented the perfect opportunity to escape.

Fellow Serie A side Torino were hot on the heels of the defender, but the Granata have lost out to Sampdoria in their quest to lure the former Italian Under-21 international to Turin. The player joins Sampdoria on loan with an option to buy at the end of the loan period.

Raggi will begin his new journey in Genoa shortly, with the second half of the season presenting an interesting challenge for the talented stopper, linking up with the likes of Antonio Cassano and Emiliano Bonnazzoli at Samp.
