The Doria have collected just ten points so far and lost their fourth game of the Serie A campaign at the hands of Napoli last Sunday.
The Genova-based side finished in sixth place last term, just six points behind fourth placed Fiorentina, qualifying for the UEFA Cup.
“There are still 28 games to go and, in my opinion, we can win them all and claim the Scudetto,” the tactician joked in an interview with Il Secolo XIX.
“We need to forget last season, because too many people dwell on this.”
The former Reggina man was livid at the referee after the game with the Partenopei, as a perfectly valid Antonio Cassano goal was ruled out for offside.
Making the most of his bad mood, he's also taken aim at the Doriani’s low-profile transfer market presence.
“You have to consider all the things that are happening,” insisted the trainer, “Consider all the episodes in the transfer campaign, because otherwise I end up being the only culprit and I don’t like it.
“For example, take a look at Napoli; they had two great players on the bench on Sunday, one was Leandro Rinaudo and the other was Salvatore Aronica.
“When I left Reggio Calabria, I repeatedly asked the club to bring in the latter, to no avail…”
