The Blucerchiati head to the Stadio Olimpico without their defensive duo of Hugo Campagnaro and Pietro Accardi but the coach is staying optimistic on his side’s chances of success.
Doria will begin a whirlwind period on Sunday which will see them play seven games in 20 days but Mazzarri is not worried as he has great belief in his players abilities to pull a result out of the bag.
"I have the feeling that we will go to Rome and do well," said the coach.
"I think that whoever plays on Sunday will not let me or the team down at all.
"We have a slight emergency in terms of injuries but that shouldn’t prevent us from doing well. We know that we have a busy period ahead of us with Europe on the agenda but I am asking my players to focus on the game against Lazio.
"We can then think about other things once this game is over."
The coach also had a few words on the violence which has dominated the Serie A headlines.
"The fact is that violence is a social problem. Violent people are everywhere, at the stadiums, on the street, in concerts. I think the authorities need to react faster to the problem and ensure the criminals are dealt with quickly and with the punishments of the law," concluded the coach.
Sampdoria travel to the eternal city in search of maximum points following their impressive display against Inter in week one.
