At the conclusion of the 2006 World Cup, Mark Bresciano moved from Parma, a club he spent some five years at, to Palermo, after he signed a four year deal with the Sicilian club.

After taking his time to settle in to his new club, Bresciano has now made over 80 appearances for the Rosanero, and is looking as strong as ever at present.

Despite being extremely close to a move to the English Premier League in the recent transfer period, the Australian international has admitted that he made the right decision to stay in Italy.

“I'm enjoying myself more and more with each game we play, and so I am happy to have stayed at Palermo,” he said.

“Last year I had some minor issues with the coaches, but now everything is fine,” he concluded.

Bresciano continued his good form last night, as his last minute goal was enough for the Australians to win their crucial World Cup qualifier against Bahrain 1-0.
