21-year-old Ahmed Al-Muhammadi has been subject to interest from a number of top European clubs since breaking onto the scene at the 2007 African Youth Championships, and at one stage reportedly aroused the  attentions of Real Madrid.

Hertha Berlin and Rapid Bucharest have both had bids for the right-sider turned down in the past year by the player's club, ENPPI.

Al-Muhammadi was a member of the victorious Pharoahs' panel that claimed the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, and has been a prominent fixture in all of his side's World Cup qualifiers to date.

Now, Al-Muhammadi will travel to England in order to hook up with Paul Ince's side, with a view to a January transfer.

He told filgoal.com: "I will fly to England on Thursday for a trial with Blackburn, upon the request of their manager.

"Coach Ince wanted to see me before opening talks with my club regarding a transfer in the winter break."
