It's no secret that Atlético Madrid do not have the best goalkeepers in Spain at the moment, but they appear to be trying to put that right this summer.

Along with Getafe, the Champions League side are reportedly interested in signing highly-rated Celtic goalkeeper, Artur Boruc.

The Scottish Sun declares today that both sides are considering bids for the Pole in the summer, and that they would be somewhere in the region of €9 million.

For Getafe, signing Boruc would mean that they could let Roberto Abbondanzieri return to Boca Juniors, and still have an international goalkeeper between the sticks, although they do have Argentine young gun Oscar Ustari in reserve.

Whilst Atlético already have two international goalkeepers in Leo Franco and Gregory Coupet, but neither are exactly 100% reliable. Los Rojiblancos are suspected to have watched Boruc on at least eight occasions, confirming their interest in the player.

Newcastle, AC Milan and Arsenal are also reportedly interested in signing the Polish international, but Celtic would probably be reluctant to sell.

However, due to the fact that Boruc has attracted the attention of so many top class clubs, who can realistically achieve more than the Scottish side in Europe, he may well be gunning for a move.

At the age of 28 he is probably at the peak of his career, so it would not be a surprise to see him leave in the summer.
