Massimo Donati arrived at Celtic in 2007 and started out promisingly, but at present he does not see the field often, due to both injuries and tactical choices.
The player secured a move to Glasgow after a successful loan spell at Atalanta during the 2006/07 season and he admits he would welcome a move back to the Orobici.
"I'm very attached to Atalanta," he admitted, "but today, I am not are of any negotiation to bring me back to Bergamo. If the club wanted to, I am ready to talk about it.
"Certainly it is not my intention to leave Celtic and Scotland, even if I'm aware that Italy is my home," he told Radio Incontro.
However, the 27-year-old was certain that sooner or later, he will return to Bergamo.
"One day I will return to Bergamo, it could be in the summer, it could be in two years," he said. "Atalanta is doing very well in the championship. Hopefully, my presence would add something more."
