Manchester United Youngsters Deserve First Team Chance After Victory Over Tottenham Hotspur - Gary Neville
United veteran salutes young side...
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson fielded a less experienced side to his usual starting XI in the League Cup quarter-final victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Darron Gibson scored both goals in the 2-0 win, and Neville cited the 22-year-old as one of the Red Devils' developing talents.
"In the first half today we didn't play the best football, but Gibbo [Darron Gibson] scored two goals and that makes it routine for you," he told Sky Sports.
"I don't think they're younger players, they're playing for their countries. They deserve to be there by right. They are Premier League players of that quality, they are obviously developing.
"It's going to be difficult but we're in the semi final and we want to continue to do well this year."
