Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus has named Tomas Rosicky as his favourite player of all time.

The 35-year-old has yet to feature for Arsenal this season after requiring an operation on a knee injury, while his contract with Arsene Wenger’s side expires at the end of the campaign.

Reus, a lifelong Dortmund supporter, was 13 years old when Rosicky played an instrumental role in the club's Bundesliga title victory in 2002.

In a Q&A on the Europa League’s official Facebook page, Reus was also asked to give his take on the Cristiano Ronaldo - Lionel Messi debate.

“That's really difficult to say,” replied the Germany international.

“Both are playing at a high level. They have been above everyone else for some years now. They possess qualities which other players don't have and they have consistency!”
