Bayer Leverkusen have revealed that their Swiss midfielder is attracting the interest of a number of clubs- including Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal
Bayer
Leverkusen
midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta is seemingly a wanted man. The Werkself have made it known that a number
of top European clubs are keeping tabs on their midfield star.
It was rumoured in the January transfer window that Portsmouth were in the hunt for the 23-year-old, but the Swiss star preferred to stay in the Bundesliga with Bayer.
However, it has now emerged that a number of bigger clubs are tracking him, making it all the more likely that their overtures will be hard to resist.
Despite the interest from the London giants, Leverkusen are still keen on extending his contract.
"There are enquiries for Tranquillo all the time and we have been talking about this with him," Leverkusen sporting manager Michael Reschke told Express.
"We are always in touch with Tranquillo and are attempting to extend his deal."
It is believed Barnetta would attract a fee of around £12 million as he has 18 months to run on his current contract.
