Nicu Confident Hertha Will Pick Up Where They Left Off

Hertha Berlin midfielder Maximilian Nicu has talked about his optimism for the capital club in the second half of the season...

Bundesliga: Hertha BSC Berlin - MSV Duisburg, Skacel und Niculescu im Zweikampf
Hertha BSC surprised most pundits by enjoying a highly impressive opening half to the season.  More used to mid table mediocrity, the ‘Old Lady’ under Swiss trainer Lucien Favre have built their success on a solid back line that is the third meanest in the league and occupy the third Champions League berth as a result.

Nicu, who has settled in very well at the club since arriving from Wehen Wiesbaden in the summer, is convinced that they will continue to exceed expectations in the second half of the season partially as a result of their diligent preparations in Marbella, Spain.

"It was a very good training camp and the conditions here were superb. The friendly games were good too. Now we have to work on our sharpness ahead of the Bundesliga re-start," he told the club's official website.

"We will be well prepared and will give our all to make a good start to the second half of the Bundesliga season," he added, before concluding by enthusing "Things have gone perfectly for me."
