Hoffenheim Rocked By Ibisevic Injury
The Bundesliga leaders have suffered a potentially crippling blow after their star striker came down with what looks to be serious injury...
According to a statement on Hoffenheim's official website, Vedad Ibisevic may have ruptured a cruciate ligament during Wednesday's test match against Hamburger SV.
"A first examination has raised the suspicion of an anterior right cruciate ligament rupture. He is expected to return home and undergo a detailed examination in Heidelberg," read a statement on www.tsg-hoffenheim.de.
Confirmation of a long-term injury to Ibisevic would be more than just a bitter pill for the 'village club', as he ended 2008 on record-breaking pace with an astounding 18 goals in 17 games.
