Hertha's Friedrich Philosophical After Schalke Defeat
Hertha Berlin defender Arne Friedrich took an introspective view point on his side's toothless defeat at Schalke on Saturday...
Hertha Berlin defender Arne Friedrich was both frank and philosophical after his side succumbed to a 1-0 defeat away to Schalke 04.
Although neither team put on a very convincing performance, Schalke took more shots than Hertha by a ratio of more than 3:1, and won possession by nearly 2:1, and clearly deserved the win.
"Things like that happen," Friedrich said after the defeat. "Schalke had more of the game over the 90 minutes and we did too little over the course of the game.
"We let them have too much space and should have invested more into the game."
Hertha Berlin have slipped to 4th place in the Bundesliga following a 1-0 defeat away to Schalke, who jumped from 9th to 6th.
