Wolfsburg Launch Raid For Japan Star
VfL Wolfsburg have weighed in with an offer for Japanese striker Yoshito Okubo according to J-League side Vissel Kobe.
The Kobe club only confirmed that they have received a bid from the Bundesliga outfit, but remained coy on whether they are willing to part with their star player.
"We received an official letter from them," admitted team executive Masahiro Wada.
"We cannot say what will happen in the future, but I have to point out that Okubo has a contract remaining with our team.
"I suppose the German club realises that. We will hold discussions in the future."
The 26-year-old former Asian Young Player of the Year who is considered as one of the best Japanese talents, though he did not manage to make a huge impact during a loan spell at Real Mallorca during the 05/06 season.
