Hertha Boss: My Players Showed Character
Hertha Berlin boss Lucien Favre knows his side were lucky to pull off a win on the weekend after Hamburger SV had so dominated the first-half.
Mladen Petric gave Hamburg a much deserved lead with barely 10 minutes played but after a number of narrow escapes, Hertha appeared a new side in the second-half and ended up flipping the game on its head completely by scoring two unanswered gaols within four minutes through Cicero and Valeri Domovchiyski.
"I cannot be satisfied with our first half performance, because we were asleep for the whole of the opening 45 minutes," acknowledged Favre.
"We tackled much better after the break, however, and my players showed character and in the end secured a crucial win for us."
What had appeared such an unlikely win going into the break means that the capital club have leapfrogged HSV into fourth place going into week 14.
